Abstract/Pitch

Audience

For my project, I targeted college students and young professionals, specifically people who regularly use AI in their daily lives. I shared my pitch with my roommates, a group chat of friends, and a few classmates who frequently use tools like ChatGPT for schoolwork. I also sent it to my dad, who is interested in technology and innovation. This audience was intentional because they are directly impacted by AI and are likely to engage with my research topic.

Pitch

For my pitch, I created a pop-up style advertisement to mimic something students would realistically see online. I chose this format because it is attention-grabbing and aligns with how people consume information quickly on their phones or laptops. Since my project focuses on how AI is integrated into everyday life, a digital ad felt like the most effective way to reach my audience.

The goal of my pitch is not to sell a product, but to make people pause and think about how often they rely on AI and what that means for their own thinking, creativity, and responsibility.

The messaging in my ad highlights both familiarity and discomfort—students recognize their own behavior, but are also challenged to question it.

Primary Research Connection

This pitch also connects directly to my primary research. I included a call-to-action encouraging viewers to take a short survey about their AI usage. This allows me to collect real data from my target audience and incorporate their perspectives into my final project. Using primary research will strengthen my argument by showing how AI is actually being used, not just how it is discussed in articles.

Sources

The idea behind my pitch is supported by research discussing how AI systems operate without accountability and how their increasing use may impact human responsibility and creativity.
