Unit 2 Library

Image
I chose to read a book on biomedical engineering devices for this project because it closely links to my studies and my desired career path. Since I'm majoring in biomedical engineering, I felt it would be more important to select something that relates to practical uses of the discipline, particularly medical technologies and equipment that affect patient care. I looked around the engineering department of the library for a while before selecting a book about medical devices and its use and design. Choosing a tangible book as opposed to merely researching topics online or utilizing brief abstracts felt different. To demonstrate that I truly took the time to go, locate, and look at the book, I uploaded a picture of myself leaving the library with it. Technology has undoubtedly altered my relationship with the library. Because they are quicker and more practical, I usually use internet resources like Google, class slides, or digital textbooks. I don't typically visit the actua...

Unit 2 Draft

Unit 2 Draft My objective for my Unit 2 research is to investigate how artificial intelligence is influencing human thought, creativity, and decision-making, particularly in real-world contexts like education and daily life. People now utilize AI without even realizing it, and I want to know if it's just a useful tool or if it's starting to alter the way we think and produce. I examined three research questions regarding AI's role and got a variety of answers. More generic responses were given to the first question, which asked whether AI is altering people's thought processes or just how they obtain information. The majority of people described AI as a quicker version of Google and concentrated on it as a tool for productivity and ease. Responses were constant, but they lacked depth. The second point concerned the use of AI in higher education and if it ought to be subject to the same rules as plagiarism. People were forced to take a stance, which led to more deliber...

Abstract/Pitch

Image
Audience For my project, I targeted college students and young professionals, specifically people who regularly use AI in their daily lives. I shared my pitch with my roommates, a group chat of friends, and a few classmates who frequently use tools like ChatGPT for schoolwork. I also sent it to my dad, who is interested in technology and innovation. This audience was intentional because they are directly impacted by AI and are likely to engage with my research topic. Pitch For my pitch, I created a pop-up style advertisement to mimic something students would realistically see online. I chose this format because it is attention-grabbing and aligns with how people consume information quickly on their phones or laptops. Since my project focuses on how AI is integrated into everyday life, a digital ad felt like the most effective way to reach my audience. The goal of my pitch is not to sell a product, but to make people pause and think about how often they rely on AI and what t...

Research Questions - Mia Norris

Research Questions For my Unit 2 project, I developed three potential research questions that align with our course inquiry into technology, culture, responsibility, and evolving human systems. Research Question #1 Has artificial intelligence already begun reshaping how humans think, or is it simply changing how we access information? Responses:  -  This is dependent on how a person uses it. Overall, AI is changing how we access information for those who use it in school or work, streamlining projects and making jobs more efficient. It’s become a quicker and more in-depth search engine. For people who use AI in order to think about what to cook for dinner or what to wear out with friends, or using it as a venting tool, I think it does have the capability of reshaping human thought and humans' ability to think independently. (McKayla Norris) - I think AI is mainly changing how we access information rather than how we think. In many ways, it is just a faster version of Go...
