Unit 2 Library
I looked around the engineering department of the library for a while before selecting a book about medical devices and its use and design. Choosing a tangible book as opposed to merely researching topics online or utilizing brief abstracts felt different. To demonstrate that I truly took the time to go, locate, and look at the book, I uploaded a picture of myself leaving the library with it.
Technology has undoubtedly altered my relationship with the library. Because they are quicker and more practical, I usually use internet resources like Google, class slides, or digital textbooks. I don't typically visit the actual library as a result. But being there helped me realize that it's easier to concentrate when I'm not constantly jumping between pages or distracted by notifications.
However, technology continues to influence my understanding of the text. I can study particular gadgets discussed, seek up new vocabulary, and relate what I'm reading to ideas I've learned in class. Overall, this experience demonstrated to me that, particularly in a topic like biomedical engineering, combining technology and physical resources can actually enhance my comprehension of the subject matter.
